It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Austin can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Southwestern Rebels on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Austin was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 25-22.
Austin has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Southwestern, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-11.
