Baseball Recap: Hobbs Takes a Loss

Hobbs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 23-11 to the Mayfield Trojans. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Trojans since on Tuesday.

Cole Kesner and John Curtis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kesner went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Curtis scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Kesner has posted since back in April of 2024. Jason Fuentes also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mayfield beat Hobbs by a score of 11-5 later that day.
