Basketball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York lost against Warhill back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The York Falcons lost 64-38 to the Warhill Lions. The Falcons were down 51-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Warhill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kristopher McDonough Ii, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points along with five assists and four steals. McDonough Ii's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Brown, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds.

York has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Warhill, their record is now 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York will head out to square off against Poquoson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. York is facing Poquoson at the right time seeing as Poquoson is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Warhill, they will venture away from home to face off against Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Smithfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
