Mahanoy Area dropped their record down to 8-11 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 10-5 to the Pottsville Crimson Tide. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson Tide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.

As for Pottsville, they now have a winning record of 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

For Pottsville's part, Peyton Eckert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Eckert a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Pottsville let Megan Yost and Aubrey Scanlan run wild. Yost went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Scanlan went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Scanlan has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lana Cromyak, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Mahanoy Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pottsville, they will take on Panther Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
