Soccer Game Preview: Franklin Central vs. Delaware Academy

The Franklin Central Purple Devils will face off against the Delaware Academy Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Franklin Central took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Laurens Central. Franklin Central better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Jacob Kingsbury, as he scored every single goal for his team.

Meanwhile, Delaware Academy kept a clean sheet against Margaretville Central on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 6-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Delaware Academy considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

The win got Delaware Academy back to even at 3-3-2. As for Franklin Central, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-1.

Franklin Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Delaware Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Purple Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
