Basketball Recap: York Takes a Loss

After flying high against Keshequa last Friday, York came back down to earth. The York Golden Knights took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornell Red Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Golden Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 221st).

York has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Hornell, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Coming up, York will be playing in front of their home fans against Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warsaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hornell, they will face off against Haverling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hornell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
