Softball Recap: Angleton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Angleton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Ball Tornadoes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in March.

Rylee Church made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

Church wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ayleen Cervantes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Cervantes also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Angleton's record now sits at 13-2. As for Ball, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-19.

Angleton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against La Porte on the 11th. As for Ball, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Bridge City on the 11th.
