Baseball Game Preview: Rifle Bears vs. Roaring Fork Rams

Rifle has gone 7-2 against Roaring Fork recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bears will square off against the Rams at 3:00 p.m. Rifle is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Rifle barely beat Steamboat Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Sailors on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Baden Phillips, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Rifle is undefeated when Phillips posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kale Potter, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Roaring Fork came up short against Coal Ridge on Tuesday and fell 14-9. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost six in a row.

Rifle's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Roaring Fork, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-11.

Rifle was able to grind out a solid victory over Roaring Fork in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
