Basketball Recap: Waterloo Comes Up Short

Waterloo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Breese Central Cougars, falling 57-31. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Cougars are ranked second).

Waterloo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Breese Central, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterloo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. Breese Central will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Greenville at 7:15 p.m. on January 28th.
