Baseball Game Preview: Wyandotte Bulldogs vs. Washington Wildcats

The Wyandotte Bulldogs will square off against the Washington Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wyandotte is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Leavenworth hit Wyandotte with a 12-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs lost 16-1 to the PIONEERS.

Meanwhile, Washington got the win against Schlagle on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Chris Reno was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Washington is 4-2 when Reno posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Jason Mielkus was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Washington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wyandotte's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Washington, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wyandotte has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
