Recap: Rivers of Life Christian Eagles vs. Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles
The Rivers of Life Christian Eagles lost against the Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Rivers of Life Christian had to suffer through a rough 60-30 loss at the hands of Westwood Baptist Academy. Rivers of Life Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.
Rivers of Life Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Jepsen and Jacob Cochran. Jepsen scored 12 points, while Cochran scored 11 points.
Westwood Baptist Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexander Carson out in front who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Barker, who scored 15 points along with three steals and two blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Rivers of Life Christian and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Rivers of Life Christian will take on Varsity Opponent at TBD on Thursday. Westwood Baptist Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Heritage Classical Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Heritage Classical Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Westwood Baptist Academy is ranked 177th).
