Soccer Game Preview: Currituck County vs. Manteo

The Currituck County Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Manteo Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Manteo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Currituck County, who comes in off a win.

Currituck County headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Hertford County let them put that streak behind them. The Knights put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 15-1 win on Thursday. Considering Currituck County have won five matches by more than four goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Manteo was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to First Flight. Manteo fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against First Flight since on Wednesday.

Manteo's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Currituck County, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-2.

Currituck County suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Manteo in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
