Basketball Recap: Bainbridge Comes Up Short

Bainbridge lost against Monroe back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bainbridge Bearcats took a hard 55-37 fall against the Monroe Golden Tornadoes. The Bearcats just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Monroe found their leader in sophomore Kie'Aundria Acree, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 boards. Acree's evening made it 39 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Taylor Mckinzy was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Bainbridge now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Monroe, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Bainbridge has already played their next contest (against Lee County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Monroe will be taking part in a tournament against Fitzgerald at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Monroe has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 184 points over their last three matches.
