For the second straight game, Canon City will face off against Widefield. The Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canon City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Canon City sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Widefield. The two-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Eric Chavez was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Canon City's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4. As for Widefield, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Canon City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Widefield struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
