Baseball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Academy Eagles vs. Jupiter Christian Eagles

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Calvary Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Jupiter Christian will be coming in after a loss.

While Calvary Christian Academy's win against Royal Palm Beach wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Calvary Christian Academy had just enough and edged out Royal Palm Beach 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 4, 2024.

Cole Diehl made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Diehl was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Braden Rosenthal was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Wes Altidort also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Calvary Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Royal Palm Beach only posted a batting average of .200.

Meanwhile, Jupiter Christian came up short against Saint Andrew's last Friday and fell 6-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jupiter Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Kostura, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Kostura is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Calvary Christian Academy moved to 2-3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Jupiter Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Calvary Christian Academy beat Jupiter Christian 6-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
