Basketball Game Preview: MacArthur Highlanders vs. Lawton Wolverines

MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Lawton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The MacArthur Highlanders will challenge the Lawton Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, MacArthur was fully in charge, breezing past Noble 77-46. The Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lawton faced Del City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Lawton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Del City 46-43. The win was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on four straight.

Lawton's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for MacArthur, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

MacArthur couldn't quite finish off Lawton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 61-58. Can MacArthur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
