Volleyball Recap: Surprise Valley Hornets vs. Burney Raiders
Surprise Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Burney Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Burney found their leader in underclassman Aimee Hampton, who had nine digs and eight aces. The dominant performance gave her a new career- in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Jimenez-Garcia, who had nine digs and four aces.
Surprise Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Burney, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Surprise Valley will face off against Tulelake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Burney and Surprise Valley will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
