Volleyball Recap: Fontana Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Fontana came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rim of the World Fighting Scots 3-0. The Steelers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Fighting Scots, too.

Fontana walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-18, 25-19.

Donavan Bacon paced Fontana's offense, picking up 16 kills. Bacon got some help from Luis Gonzalez and his 26 assists. Gonzalez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Fontana's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Rim of the World, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Fontana will take on Summit at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rim of the World, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Bloomington on the 31st.
