Basketball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 58-40 to the New Hope Indians.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 1-23. As for New Hope, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season.

Columbia and New Hope could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Columbia (ranked 341st) will meet Mae Jemison (ranked 147th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, New Hope will square off against Plainview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 171 places (190 vs. 19).
