Basketball Recap: Noxubee County Comes Up Short

The matchup between Noxubee County and Okolona on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Noxubee County Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Okolona Chieftains. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noxubee County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Okolona, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-12-1.

Noxubee County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southeast Lauderdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Okolona, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Calhoun City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Okolona likes a good challenge.
