Recap: Cheraw Braves vs. South Florence Bruins
The Cheraw Braves suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by South Florence on the road and fell 58-29. Cheraw has not had much luck with South Florence recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Cheraw lost, one person who can't be blamed is My'Shauna Worrell. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Worrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Jada Montgomery was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with four steals for South Florence. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson watson, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Cheraw's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for South Florence, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheraw won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Andrew Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Andrew Jackson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.1 points per game. As for South Florence, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against North Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. North Myrtle Beach is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
