Basketball Recap: Jane Belmont's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Amundsen over Perspectives Leadership/Technology

Amundsen lost against Perspectives Leadership/Technology back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Amundsen Vikings fell 68-55 to the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amundsen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jane Belmont, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. Belmont is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Jayla Robinson was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Amundsen was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Karla Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 15 boards. Thomas is becoming a predictor of Perspectives Leadership/Technology's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Morgan, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

Amundsen's record is now 2-7. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Amundsen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-36 defeat against Resurrection on the 14th. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-34 loss against Kenwood on the 16th.
