Softball Recap: Grundy County Comes Up Short

Grundy County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Forrest Rockets, falling 11-1. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Rockets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Celia Tate made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That hit was her first of the season.

Grundy County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Forrest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Grundy County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moore County at 6:00 p.m. on March 28th. As for Forrest, they will challenge Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
