Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Raiders vs. Westbury Huskies

The Sterling Raiders will square off against the Westbury Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Sterling made off with a 40-39 win over Galena Park. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westbury, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They breezed by Madison to the tune of 72-31 on Friday. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Sterling is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Westbury, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Everything went Sterling's way against Westbury in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Sterling made off with a 52-32 win. Does Sterling have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westbury turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
