Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Cadets vs. New Canaan Rams

The St. Joseph Cadets will square off against the New Canaan Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. Joseph is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering McMahon just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Senators.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Canaan). They put the hurt on Bridgeport Central with a sharp 16-5 victory on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won four games in a row.

Wes Gallo tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, New Canaan got a massive performance out of Adrian Delicata, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Delicata a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Hickey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

New Canaan's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
