Softball Recap: Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Comes Up Short

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to the Greenwood Woodmen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Gilbreath, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Gilbreath's first of the season.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Greenwood, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial has already played their next game, a 14-8 victory against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 26th. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Southport at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
