Soccer Game Preview: Bishop McDevitt vs. Red Land

The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Red Land Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Bishop McDevitt's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hershey on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Bishop McDevitt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Hershey are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Red Land kept a clean sheet against Palmyra on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Cougars.

The win got Red Land back to even at 8-8-1. As for Bishop McDevitt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

Bishop McDevitt came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Land when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
