Basketball Game Preview: Grace Academy vs. Community Christian Warriors

Grace Academy are taking a road trip to take on the Community Christian Warriors at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Grace Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Last Friday, Grace Academy took their matchup with ease, bagging a 55-24 win over Memorial Christian Academy. The victory continues a trend for Grace Academy in their matchups with Memorial Christian Academy: they've now won six in a row.

Grace Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Richmond McIver, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points and five blocks. McIver is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Canyon Maxwell, who posted nine points along with seven boards and five steals.

Grace Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Community Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 43-39 W against the Lions.

Grace Academy pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Community Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Grace Academy came up short against Community Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 45-37. Thankfully for Grace Academy, Jonathan Blackburn (who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
