Soccer Game Preview: Vero Beach vs. Sebastian River

The Vero Beach Indians will take on the Sebastian River Sharks in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vero Beach will be strutting in after a win while Sebastian River will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Vero Beach beat Martin County 3-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Tigers are ranked 88th).

Vero Beach hit Martin County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kai Jonason, Reese Gibbons, and Enny Joseph.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matchups, Sebastian River finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 2-0 to Treasure Coast. The Sharks' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The win got Vero Beach back to even at 6-6-2. As for Sebastian River, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3-2.
