Baseball Recap: Lincoln Lions vs. Cranston East Thunderbolts
Lincoln had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 9-4 to make it five. They fell just short of the Cranston East Thunderbolts by a score of 5-4. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Thunderbolts from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Lincoln saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Xiarhos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
As for Cranston East, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games.
On Cranston East's side, Tyler Chisholm was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Joshua Gillen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lincoln is set to square off against their familiar foe Westerly at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cranston East will challenge rival La Salle Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
