Basketball Recap: Maquoketa Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Maquoketa won against Camanche last Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Maquoketa Cardinals beat the Camanche Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 59-33. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Maquoketa, bringing their record for this year to 19-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 21.9 points. As for Camanche, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maquoketa will take on Iowa City on Monday. Iowa City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Maquoketa likes a good challenge. As for Camanche, they will face off against Monticello at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
