Recap: Central Baptist Swordsmen vs. Franklin Road Christian Minutemen
After flying high against the Tipton Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday, the Central Baptist Swordsmen came back down to earth. Central Baptist's tough 72-52 defeat to Franklin Road Christian on Saturday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Baptist in their matchups with Franklin Road Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Road Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Pence, who scored 19 points along with 9 assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Pence has scored at least 25% of Franklin Road Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Walker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Central Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Franklin Road Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Baptist will face off against Varsity Opponent at 7:05 p.m. on Monday. Franklin Road Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Zion Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
