Mater Dei is still undefeated this season after their match against Allen on Friday, but Allen came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Mater Dei Monarchs came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Allen Eagles. The three-run effort marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mater Dei's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Allen, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Mater Dei and Allen's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Mater Dei and Magnolia Heights (who has only given up two runs per game) will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
