Volleyball Recap: Howard Lions vs. Wootton Patriots

Howard and Wootton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Howard had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wootton Patriots, falling 3-0. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their 23-game winning streak.

Howard was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Wootton work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-16, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Howard still got an impressive performance from Miranda Ball, who had 17 digs. Ball has been hot , having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Howard fell to 23-1. As for Wootton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Howard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wootton, they are on the road again on Saturday to play North Hagerstown. North Hagerstown will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Wootton surely won't give up without a fight.
