Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They blew past the Sports Leadership & Management Cobras, posting a 27-0 victory. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2024.
Centennial can attribute much of their success to Miley McCarty, who threw for 116 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes, and also rushed for 43 yards. What's more, McCarty posted two passing touchdowns, the most she's had since back in February.
Centennial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Michaela Talbott, Trinity Peterson, and Morgan Pelzer picked up one apiece. Centennial is undefeated when Pelzer posts one or more interceptions, but 4-7 otherwise. Pelzer got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win got Centennial back to even at 7-7. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Centennial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-0 victory against Tradition Prep on the 9th. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will face off against Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The ThunderWolves' defense has only allowed 5.1 points per game this season, so the Cobras' offense will have their work cut out for them.
