There's no place like home for Irving, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Berkner Rams on Tuesday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their nine-match losing streak.
 The  victory didn't come easy: Berkner scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21,  25-19.
 Despite the  loss, Berkner saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Dayana Cardenas Lopez  had ten  digs.
Irving's  win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 5-17. As for Berkner, their defeat was  their seventh straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 11-22.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Irving will  face off against  rival Richardson  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Berkner is set to  take on  their familiar foe Nimitz  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
