Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Rhianna Schommer and Aubrey Mathews Lead Reedsburg to Victory

There's no place like home for Reedsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Westby Norsemen 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Beavers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Reedsburg got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 20-25, 15-13.

Reedsburg was led to victory by Aubrey Mathews and Rhianna Schommer. Mathews had 16 digs and two aces, while Schommer had nine digs. Those 16 digs gave Mathews a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Westby lost on Sunday, don't look at Raegan Stenslien. Despite the final result, she had six digs and two aces.

Reedsburg's win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 15-15. As for Westby, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Reedsburg has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Fort Atkinson on the 7th. As for Westby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Arcadia on the 7th.
