            Volleyball Recap: Hondo Owls vs. Comfort Bobcats/Deer        
        
		
        
        
            Hondo lost against Comfort back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Owls fell  3-1 to the Bobcats/Deer. While the Owls didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats/Deer  25-17 in the first  set.
 Hondo started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-10, 25-12,  25-20.
 Shanell Rivera paced Hondo's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rivera got some help from  Ava Lowe and her 12 assists.  Araceli Fernandez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
  Tindall Ahrens produced another solid  effort  getting 16  kills, 16  digs,  and four  aces for Comfort. That's the most  digs  Ahrens has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Corrine Brown, who  had nine  digs and one  block.
Hondo has  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record  this season. As for Comfort, their win was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 14-5.
 Coming up, Hondo will take on Cole at 9:45  a.m.  on Friday. As for Comfort, they will venture away from home to  challenge Johnson City  at 9:00  a.m.  on Friday.
