Recap: Community Christian Warriors vs. Stephenville FAITH Knights
The Community Christian Warriors came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Stephenville FAITH 71-16 at home. Considering Community Christian has won four matches by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Community Christian had a senior duo take command as Jonathan Blackburn scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Price Horton scored 15 points along with five steals. The matchup was Blackburn's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Braden Maness was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Stephenville FAITH struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Community Christian racked up 14 assists.
Community Christian's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Stephenville FAITH, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Community Christian will play host again and welcome Grayson Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Grayson Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Stephenville FAITH, they will square off against Atlas HomeSchool R at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
