Softball Recap: Edgewood Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Edgewood's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ross Rams on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in April.

Edgewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evelyn Henson, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Edgewood has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Ross, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Edgewood is set to challenge their familiar foe Franklin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Ross will take on rival Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
