Preview: Pilot Point Bearcats vs. Ponder Lions
Pilot Point is 0-10 against Ponder since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pilot Point Bearcats are on the road again and play against the Ponder Lions at 5:45 p.m. on December 15th. Pilot Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1474th, while Ponder is ranked 277th).
Last Saturday, Pilot Point lost to Ford on the road by a decisive 45-29 margin.
Meanwhile, Ponder was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-43 to Paradise. It was the first time this season that Ponder let down their fans at home.
Pilot Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Ponder, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4.
Pilot Point was dealt a bruising 69-15 loss at the hands of Ponder when the teams last played back in January. Can Pilot Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
