Soccer Game Preview: Hiram vs. Villa Rica

Hiram is 0-10 against Villa Rica since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Hiram has given up an average of 6.2 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hiram came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Paulding County, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Hiram can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Paulding County are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Villa Rica's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Paulding. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Villa Rica couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Justice Rogers, who's now up to five this season.

Hiram's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Villa Rica, their loss dropped their record down to 12-2.
