Soccer Game Preview: Saint Francis vs. St. Ignatius College Preparatory

The Saint Francis Lancers will challenge the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Saint Francis will be strutting in after a victory while St. Ignatius College Preparatory will be coming in after a loss.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Saint Francis really get things going. Everything went Saint Francis' way against Archbishop Riordan on Wednesday as Saint Francis made off with a 4-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lancers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

They hit Archbishop Riordan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brandon Angulo (2), Isaac Perez, and Robert Cervasco.

Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory entered their contest against Junipero Serra on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. St. Ignatius College Preparatory fell just short of Junipero Serra by a score of 2-1. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2. As for Saint Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.
