Volleyball Recap: Owen Valley Gets the Win

While Owen Valley's victory against Cloverdale wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Clovers 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Owen Valley was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-14, 12-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-2.

Owen Valley found their leader in freshman Tinsley Monroe, who had 18 assists and four digs. Those 18 assists set a new season-high mark for Monroe.

Owen Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in five consecutive matchups.

Owen Valley's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Cloverdale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
