Recap: Southern Academy Cougars vs. Lakeside School Chiefs
The Southern Academy Cougars put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Lakeside School by a score of 41-34.
Madeline Chapman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Chapman is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Abby Sluder was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Lakeside School's loss came despite strong showings from Chloe Helms and Sophie Seaborn. Helms scored 16 points, while Seaborn scored 11 points. The match was Helms' 11th in a row with at least ten points.
Southern Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lakeside School, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Southern Academy will head out on the road to face off against Lowndes Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lowndes Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Lakeside School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chambers Academy on December 16th. Chambers Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
