Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Mt. Vernon's offense. They came up short against the Southridge Raiders on Thursday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mt. Vernon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Southridge, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will square off against North Posey at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southridge, they will take on Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
