Basketball Recap: Green Oaks Comes Up Short

Green Oaks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 66-55 to the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Giants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Cavaliers are ranked eighth).

Calvary Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaiden Hall led the charge by going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and five steals. Robert Wright was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Green Oaks now has a losing record of 16-17. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Coming up, Green Oaks is taking a road trip to face off against Tioga at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tioga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Green Oaks likes a good challenge. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-54 win against Red River on the 15th.
