Basketball Recap: Somerset Prep Comes Up Short

Somerset Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 61-27 loss at the hands of the Somerset Academy Panthers. The match marked Somerset Prep's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Somerset Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Smith out in front who posted 11 points. Jahlon Blain was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Somerset Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Somerset Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Somerset Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-59 victory against FAU High on the 11th. Somerset Academy has also already played their next contest, a 61-57 win against Elite Academy on the 12th.
