After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Perry Hall, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kenwood Bluebirds a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Lindsay Trager and Lanee Houser did most of the damage at the plate: Trager scored three runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances, while Houser scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Jada Lochary was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base.
With the victory, Franklin broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4. As for Kenwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Franklin and Kenwood will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Indians see the field they'll take on Lansdowne at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Kenwood, their break will end when they face Parkville at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
