Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roosevelt). They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Poughkeepsie Pioneers on Thursday. The Presidents not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024 (when they won 12-0).

Abigale Greenspan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cassandra Carufe and Kristeen Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Carufe got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Thomas got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Carufe a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Armstrong, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Roosevelt lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Roosevelt's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11. As for Poughkeepsie, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
